Counselling at ABC

Bringing Wholeness

At Andover Baptist Church, we offer a counselling service that is open to all. We believe that Jesus came to bring wholeness and wellbeing, emotionally, physically and spiritually. Our counselling is open to all individuals, male and female, as well as to couples.

Counselling provides the opportunity to explore issues in a safe place where a trusting relationship can develop between the counsellor and the client. It is non-judgemental and is listening, not advice giving, and can enable personal growth and decision making. It may be used to explore specific issues such as: relationship difficulties, depression, loss, wanting to talk over past experiences; or there may be a less clear focus. Counselling is a commitment and it will require you to attend regularly to get the maximum benefit from the service we offer. Counsellors are practising Christians but will not impose their faith on anyone who comes to them.

The service is affiliated to the ACC, the Association of Christian Counsellors.  All our counsellors are volunteers and are accredited with  ACC or BACP or are working towards accreditation.  All receive individual supervision.  If you are interested in finding out more, please contact the church office.

This is a professional service with costs for supervision, insurance and membership of professional organisations. Donations are requested and this will be discussed in the assessment session.
